This buffalo ranch chicken dip is a quick and easy appetizer that’s loaded with shredded chicken, ranch and plenty of cheese. It’s a make-ahead dip that’s perfect for game day, parties and more!

Chicken, cream cheese and buffalo sauce all come together to make the most delicious creamy buffalo chicken dip. This is one of my favorite party dips along with hot spinach dip, crab dip and white queso dip.

It’s almost that time again – time for the big game! Watching the game has become a father-daughter tradition in my house. The girls spend quality time with their dad and I keep the snacks coming, because football food is as fun as the actual game itself. This easy buffalo ranch chicken dip is one of our favorite snacks for game day, and it also happens to be super easy to make. To make this buffalo ranch chicken dip make sure you have cooked chicken, cream cheese, buffalo wing sauce, dry ranch dressing mix, sour cream, cheddar cheese and green onions.

How Do You Make Buffalo Ranch Chicken Dip?

For this buffalo ranch chicken dip, in a medium bowl mix together cooked, shredded chicken, cream cheese, buffalo wing sauce, dry ranch mix and sour cream. After the mixture is combined, spread it into a skillet that has been coated with cooking spray. Top the dip with shredded cheddar cheese. Bake the dip in the skillet for 20 minutes until brown and bubbly. Sprinkle sliced green onions on top and enjoy!

Tips For The Perfect Buffalo Ranch Chicken Dip

  • I think the chicken breast meat works best for this dip because it is easier to shred; however, you can other chicken meat.
  • In a pinch, if you don’t have any other chicken you can use canned chicken meat.
  • It’s important that your cream cheese is softened so that all the ingredients blend together nicely.
  • You can use a skillet, pie plate or similar oven safe baking dish to bake your dip.
  • Serve with baguette slices, chips, crackers, pretzel chips, celery sticks, breadsticks and veggies.
  • You can buy pre-made toasted baguette slices, also known as crostini, in your grocery store’s bakery or deli departments.

This buffalo ranch chicken dip is savory and delicious as-is; however, you can adjust the flavors to your taste.

  • Cheese: I like to use cheddar cheese, but Monterey Jack cheese, Colby Jack cheese or mozzarella cheese would also work nicely.
  • Spicier: For a spicier version of this dip, use some hot buffalo wing sauce or add a little hot sauce.
  • Blue Cheese Sauce: Buffalo sauce goes great with blue cheese dressing. Make a little blue cheese dressing to serve on the side and cool your mouth.

Ingredients 

  • 1 1/2 cups cooked chicken shredded
  • 8 ounces cream cheese softened
  • 1/2 cup buffalo wing sauce sauce such as Frank’s®
  • 2 tablespoons dry ranch dressing mix
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 2 tablespoons sliced green onions
  • cooking spray

Instructions 

  • Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.
  • In a medium bowl, mix together the chicken, cream cheese, buffalo wing sauce, dry ranch mix and sour cream.
  • Coat an 8 inch skillet or pie plate with cooking spray. Spread the chicken mixture into the skillet.
  • Top with cheddar cheese.
  • Bake for 20 minutes or until browned and cheese is melted. Sprinkle with green onions and serve.
