Oh, what a fun drink this is! We are deep in the middle of our Moscow Mule series and changing it up with some interesting flavors, Limoncello and lavender. One of the really neat things about these flavors is that you can make the individual components to go along with it!

Limoncello and lavender go excellently together and when combined in this classic cocktail, really makes for a great drink! Take a chance on this Limoncello and Lavender Moscow Mule and make one tonight.

Lavender Infused Vodka

Here is a recipe for Lavender Extract.

The extract we are using is the DIY version and really is just a lavender infused vodka.  You may need to change your recipe depending on the formula of the lavender extract you are using. So, our recipe includes vodka and lavender.

I suspect the extract you may buy at your local store may not be the same, but look at the ingredients. You are going to have to use your best judgment to get the appropriate levels of taste and alcohol. I am relying on the extract to add to the taste and ABV of the cocktail.

Limoncello

Interestingly enough, we also have some homemade limoncello brewing, as well. Unfortunately, it is not ready to be used in our Limoncello and Lavender Moscow Mule as it was not started with this series in mind.

We just wanted some limoncello. Fear not, faithful reader, as your local adult beverage store should have plenty of options for really great limoncello. Incidentally, limoncello also has vodka as the base alcohol. Sugar, water, and lemons are added and then aged to make the spirit.

Limoncello and Lavender Moscow Mule Recipe

Really, the cocktail is very similar to the original Mule. We are removing the vodka and then adding the flavors we want, which happen to have a base spirit of vodka along with the flavors we love. So, enjoy this new take on the classic Moscow Mule.

  1. This sounds like a fabulous twist on a mule! Limoncello is delicious, and I bet with ginger beer it’s even better!
