Flour Substitutes

Gluten-free flours. If you are gluten intolerant and do not have rice flour you can substitute this flour for:

  • Almond flour
  • Sorghum flour
  • Corn starch

If you are gluten tolerant you can use any type of flour for this recipe. Still, my first choice is rice flour but if you have no rice flour try:

  • Spelt flour
  • Wheat flour
  • All-purpose flour

Best Chocolate Bundt Recipe

If you are looking for the best chocolate cake for dessert or as a coffee cake? Look no further because this cake is rich, moist, and full of flavor.

Besides the Oreo this cake is gluten-free. The bundt cake is making a come bake. When I was a little girl, we would have bundt cake at our house all the time.

My mother would bake a cake, apple pie, beignets, and bundt cake. The best part of every bake was when we got to lick the whisk with batter.

We would hang around the kitchen just for that one moment to clean the whisk. The bundt was always the most exciting bake because of the shape and whether or not it would come out of the cake mold in one piece.

The secret is to wait at least 15 minutes to let the cake cool off before trying to remove the cake from the mold. Nonstick will also help in this process.

There would always be raisins in the bundt and they would always end up in one place no matter how hard my mother tried. No raisins in this cake but I might use them in a future recipe.

Add Apples

Getting a new bundt mold brought back a lot of memories. As you may have noticed I like to bake with fruit and what is so great about this cake is it contains apples but it does not taste like apple cake.

It just adds to the richness of the cake. A trick I learned from my mother to prevent a cake from going dry was to add an apple to her cakes.

She would add whole pieces of apple but I grate the apple so it will dissolve inside the cake.

Amber, Thank you for your comment. I already made a note in the post to only use the Oreo’s if you are gluten tolerant and if you are not to leave them out. I have added a warning and a note in the recipe as well.
