Red Pepper Hummus Ingredients
To make this easy hummus recipe put the following ingredients on your grocery shopping list. Be sure to have a blender on hand as well:
- Chickpeas
- Red peppers or paprika
- Garlic
- Lemon juice
- Olive oil
- Cumin powder
- Paprika powder
- Chili powder
- Pepper and salt to taste

How To Make Roasted Red Pepper Hummus
To make this recipe start by preheating the oven to 425℉. Put the bell peppers on a baking tray and in the oven for 30-40 minutes to roast the peppers.
Remove seeds from the paprika before you add them to the blender. Drain the chickpeas and preferably remove the chickpea skin.
Add the chickpeas to the blender as well. Then add the following ingredients:
- Garlic
- Olive oil
- Cumin powder
- Paprika powder
- Chili powder
- Lemon juice
Start the blender until you get a smooth dip.
Crispy Tortilla Strips
For the spicy tortilla strips take flour tortillas and cut them into long small strips. Take a bowl and add some vegetable oil so you can coat the strips of tortilla with the oil.
Add dried parsley, garlic powder, and paprika powder. Bake the strips in the oven at 425℉ for about 10 minutes until crisp.
Turn the strips halfway through the cooking time. Serve when warm and you have a great snack.
You can easily freeze the dip so make a batch and store it separately so you can enjoy this any time you like.

Tasty Hummus Recipe
Hummus is a great recipe and besides the widely used hummus recipe, there are lots of options like this roasted bell pepper version.
You can use fresh bell peppers or paprika and put them in the oven to roast for about 30-40 minutes until soft.
If you want to speed up the process you can also use roasted bell peppers in a jar. This will work just as well.
Then it is all about combining the ingredients in a kitchen machine or in the blender. Easy does it.

You can store red pepper hummus just like you would your homemade hummus. You have several ways to store it:
- Refrigerator – you can store red pepper hummus in the fridge. Put it in an airtight food container to prevent the hummus from drying out or cover the bowl with plastic wrap. It is recommended to store it in an airtight food container. You can store it for up to 5 days in the fridge
- Freezer – you can also store hummus in the freezer. Put it in a freezer-friendly food container and freeze for up to 2 months. If you are ready to use it let it thaw in the food container in the fridge and stir through

Red roasted bell pepper hummus dip
This recipe shows how to make roasted red pepper hummus dip. It goes really well with these spicy tortilla crisps. It is so easy to make.
Ingredients
- 1 can of chickpea
- 2 cloves of garlic
- 1 tbsp of lemon juice
- 1 tbsp of olive oil
- ½ tsp cumin powder
- 2 bell peppers
- 1 tsp of paprika
- 1 tsp of chili powder
- pepper and salt to taste
- 2 tortillas
- 1 tsp of garlic powder
- 1 tbsp of paprika powder
- 1 tbsp of parsley
- 1 tbsp of vegetable oil
Instructions
- Preheat the oven at 425℉
- Put the bell peppers in the oven for 30-40 minutes. Remove seeds from bell pepper
- Put chickpea, bell pepper, garlic, olive oil, cumin powder, paprika, chili powder and lemon juice in the kitchen machine
- Blend until smooth
- Cut the tortilla in small strips
- Coat with vegetable oil, parsley, garlic powder, and paprika powder
- Bake in the oven at 425℉ for 10 minutes until crisp (extend if needed). Turn the strips halfway through the baking time
- Serve immediately
