Flavor Variations

While this casserole is delicious as-is, you can add other ingredients to customize the flavor to your tastes.

  • Flavorings: Feel free to add some other flavorings to the egg and milk mixture. Some great options include vanilla extract, nutmeg or orange zest. You can also substitute eggnog for the milk for an extra special holiday treat.
  • Toppings: You can add nuts to the streusel topping. My favorite options are candied pecans or candied walnuts, but almonds would also be a great choice.

Holiday entertaining doesn’t have to be overly complicated; with a few minutes and a handful ingredients you can whip up something spectacular that will make any holiday memorable.
